IT Specialist – AI Platform & Infrastructure

Role "IT Specialist" for AI Platform & Infrastructure About the role We run our business reporting and department tools on an AI SaaS platform connected to our company data. You’ll own the AI platform end to end: the platform and the skills on it, the services that connect it to our data, and the databases and network underneath. You’ll report to our Director of Technology and Cybersecurity. Why this role Own the whole stack, not one slice of it Work on a live AI deployment that executives and department teams use for real decisions Work directly with VPs and directors, so your work is seen and your judgment counts Join our newly established AI department and help shape how it grows What you’ll do Own the skills and project instructions each department’s AI works from: write them, test them against questions with known answers, version them, and publish them to the right departments Add and manage people and permissions on the AI platform, and confirm each department sees only its own Administer our databases: access, backup and recovery, performance Extend and maintain the backend services that connect the AI platform to company data, including new tools departments request Manage our network and secure access to our systems Administer enterprise identity and productivity systems: groups, sign-in and access Troubleshoot and fix failures anywhere in the stack, tracing each to its root cause; respond to production incidents, occasionally outside core hours Work directly with VPs and directors, explaining technical issues in plain language Document what you change and why, as you go What you bring 8+ years of hands-on experience across systems administration and web development CCNA certification (required) SQL Server experience (required): administration, access, backup and recovery, not only queries Networking: design, troubleshooting and security of enterprise networks Backend development: able to extend and debug existing production code, not only write new code Hands-on operation of secure remote access tooling Enterprise identity and access management, and productivity-suite administration Strong technical writing: you can turn a business process into clear, structured written instructions Careful change habits: version control, testing before release, and a rollback plan Clear, calm communication with senior leaders Honesty about mistakes, and willingness to say when you think a decision is wrong Nice to have Experience administering an AI SaaS plan (users, projects, permissions, connectors) Experience writing skills, prompts or system instructions for an AI platform Exposure to LLM tool integrations Scripting and automation Background in IT general controls or audit-related work Experience being on call for production incidents
